PH logs 2,691 new COVID-19 infections; active tally climbs to 32,323 – DOH

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has registered 2,691 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of active infections on Saturday to 32,323.

The total COVID-19 caseload is now at 3,934,778 nationwide, with 3,839,696 recoveries and 62,759 deaths, according to the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker.

The DOH recorded 2,101 COVID-19 infections from Sept. 12 to 18.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila continues to have the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks with 13,202 cases. Metro Manila is followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) with 4,738, and by Central Luzon with 2,627.

Quezon City still leads with the most number of reported cases for the last two weeks at 3,063. It is followed by Manila with 1,806 and Cavite at 1,616.

A total of 17,964 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Friday. The results of the tests will be reflected in the number of recorded infections on Sunday, Sept. 25.
