Alex Eala lost to German Katharina Hobgarski, 6-4, 6-3, in the second round of the W100 Grodzisk Mazowiecki International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament Wednesday in Poland.

Eala put up a valiant fight but the German was too classy for her, wrapping up the match in just 90 minutes.

Eala broke the German’s serve in the fourth game of the second set to knot the count at 2-all, but Hobgarski fought back, taking four of the next five games to advance to the next round.
