PH posts 133 new COVID-19 infections

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) logged 133 infections of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases to 2,415.
Both the new cases and active cases are slightly lower than the numbers recorded on Monday at 197 and 2,448, respectively.

The new cases on Tuesday are also lower than the 188 average number of cases recorded from May 23 to 29 based on a total of 1,317 cases.
These figures bring the total number of confirmed infections to 3,690,581 nationwide, with 3,627,711 recoveries and 60,455 deaths, according to the latest data shown in the DOH COVID-19 Tracker.
Meanwhile, 16,908 individuals were tested on Monday, May 30.
New infections nationwide have been slowly increasing in the past few weeks.
Experts previously warned that COVID-19 infections may surge by May due to neglected health standards.
