PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (April 23, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA state weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of the country.

It will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over SOCCSKSARGEN, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

However, the weather agency reported that a dangerous heat index is expected over Metro Manila. NAIA, Pasay City station will experience a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius while the Science Garden in Quezon City will have 41 degrees Celsius.

Torres said that no cloud formation was spotted within the Philippines Area of Responsibility that may bring rain during the day.
