Vilma Santos talked about her career

Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos shared that Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards had this request to her.

Vilma has been an inspiration to the younger generations of artists in the Philippine entertainment industry. For many years, she concentrated on her duty as a public servant.

These past years, Ate Vi rested from her political career. With this, she had more time to do some showbiz engagements.

Just recently, Vilma Santos graced the special screening of the restored version of Rory B. Quintos’ movie Anak at the Frassati Auditorium of the University of Santo Tomas, based on the article in Inquirer.

One of the questions that was asked of her was about the fans’ clamor to see her in a reunion project with Superstar Nora Aunor. She admitted that she received several scripts intended for her and her “kumare.” However, she said, “It has to be something that will make the audience say, ‘Wow!’ like ‘T-bird at Ako.’ Give us something different, something that will challenge us … a script that we can be proud of.”

This is the same reason that Vilma turned down the offer to do a sitcom with her son Luis Manzano. The seasoned also shared that Alden Richards had a request to her. She turned that down for now for the same reason.

“We saw each other at an event organized by Mowelfund. He said, ‘Ate Vi, let’s make a movie.’ I said, ‘Alden, give me a good script.’ He even said it could be the second project he would produce, after his movie with Julia [Montes],” the veteran actress said.

Director Erik Matti also pitched an action film to her but Vilma said they haven’t talked again after that proposal. She shared that it was supposed to be a zombie movie and this made her excited.

On the other hand, Vilma Santos stressed that she can’t do a project just for the sake of doing a project.
