Just recently, Ogie Diaz was once again accused of spreading fake news. It is because of what he shared about the rumors surrounding the status of Eat Bulaga, the longest-running noontime in the Philippines led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

The trio known as TVJ debunked the allegation that they are “nalulugi” and soon they will bid goodbye. They slammed the rumors about their show and criticized those who are spreading these.

In a recent episode of Showbiz Update, Ogie stressed that first and foremost, they got this from a source. They read what the source said and they expressed disbelief. “Wala naman kaming kino-confirm,” the talent manager-vlogger said.

Then, he stressed that they never said that Eat Bulaga is “magsasara.” He explained that when they mentioned that word, it was with a question mark.

He also addressed those people who are accusing them of spreading fake news. “Saka n’yo kami sabihang fake news kapag kinonfirm namin. Saka n’yo sabihing wala kaming kwentang magbalita o wala kaming kredibilidad kung sinabi naming ‘maniwala kayo sa amin magsasara ang ‘Eat Bulaga,’” he said.

Meanwhile, Henyo Master Joey de Leon clarified that his 15th-anniversary remark was for Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime. He stressed that what he said was intended to those spreading fake news about Eat Bulaga. The Henyo Master also said that the Kapamilya noontime show is not their enemy.

This was echoed by Joey’s fellow host Bossing Vic Sotto who said that It’s Showtime is not their enemy because they have a different “kaaway.”
