How true is it that the third installment of Maid In Malacañang will be a series?

The controversial movie Maid In Malacañang by director Darryl Yap is rumored to have its third installment in the form of a series.

Direk Darryl has previously revealed that he made a trilogy about the Marcos family. The first movie concentrated on the last 72 hours of the Marcoses in the Palace it was released in August 2022.

Then, it was followed by the second installment, Martyr or Murderer which intended to narrate what happened to the political family before and after the EDSA revolution. This was released in February 2023.

More than a year passed, Abante entertainment writer Jun Lalin cited in his article that people have been asking them about the latest update on the third installment of Maid In Malacañang.

Lalin shared that the filming of the movie Mabuhay Aloha Mabuhay (MaM) in Hawaii and New York was supposed to commence last year. With the delay, the entertainment writer said that some speculated if this has something to do with the “conflict” between Senator Imee Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

Lalin shared what his source revealed when asked if MaM will still push through. It was said that instead of a whole movie, the third installment of MiM will be a series.

“The Third Installment of the Trilogy of ‘Maid in Malacañang’ will be in the form of Movie; it’s gonna be a 16 Episode Series that will be experienced via Local TV and International Streaming,” the source revealed.

When asked who will be the stars in MaM, the source said that this is something that people should watch out for but for sure, Ruffa Gutierrez will still be part of it as former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

It is also expected that Eula Valdez as Imee Marcos and Aga Muhlach as Ferdinand Marcos Jr., as teased in MoM, will be part of the third installment.
