Herlene Budol talked about Empoy Marquez

Kapuso actress Herlene Budol and comedian Empoy Marquez are loveteam partners in the Kapuso primetime series Black Rider.

The said series features Ruru Madrid as the lead actor. This has been receiving warm responses from the viewers with its different elements. Aside from drama and action, the series also has funny moments brought by the characters of Herlene and Empoy.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Abante, Herlene talked about her onscreen partnership with Empoy.

The Kapuso actress said that loveteam partner in this series “nakakakilig.” “Si Empoy, nakakakilig naman! Okey naman siya. Nakakakilig talaga kasi siya, dahil iba ang karisma niya,” she said.

Herlene Budol also said that Empoy Marquez is “solid” and he is sort of surpassing the leading man vibe of Ruru Madrid when he speaks his lines.

“At saka, grabe ang atake niya kung paano magsalita, nakakadala siya. At saka, kahit hindi siya magpatawa, ‘yung hitsura pa lang niya, nakakatawa na!” the Kapuso actress shared.

Herlene also shared that there were times when their director would get angry at them because they were laughing non-stop. Their director would remind them to be serious in order for them to finish a particular scene right away.

“Kaya lang si Empoy, kahit hindi siya magpatawa, kapag napatingin na ako sa mukha niya, natatawa talaga ako,” she said.

Herlene Budol also shared that she asked advice from season stars like Rio Locsin on how to “pagpag” a role or how to get out of character after the shoot. The beauty queen-actress shared that she was having a hard time getting out of her character and even after doing a scene, she felt like she was still acting.

“Parang ako talaga ang aping-api. So parang ang character ko at si Herlene, iisa lang. ‘Yun talaga ang gusto kong aralin. Nadadala ko kasi siya hanggang sa bahay, eh. Umiiyak pa rin ako hanggang sa bahay,” Herlene shared.
