JK LABAJO – The parents of a baby attending a Juan Karlos concert in Tarlac have finally spoken out, providing reasons for bringing their child to the event.

Juan Karlos Labajo, a Filipino artist known for his work in alternative rock music, demonstrated his caring side during a performance by putting the safety of a baby first. His considerate and kind gesture received praise from netizens.

On March 23, 2024, a Facebook user known as ‘LifeofEs’ posted a video capturing the 23-year-old singer’s interaction with the baby in the audience. The video quickly gained traction on social media.

In the footage, Juan Karlos Labajo can be seen attending to the baby, expressing his concern about the loud music and explicit lyrics in one of his songs, “Ere.” The singer voiced his worries and questioned the parents of the baby about exposing the infant to such distressing sounds from his music.

“Two months? Ba’t mo pinaparinig ng ERE yung bata? Two months pa lang. Maaga. Wag,” he said.

They further clarified that their baby is seven months old, not two, as previously suggested. “Sabi ng netizens, 2 months lang ‘yung baby namin. Hindi siya 2 months. Mag-8 months na siya,” Niel said.

The couple also possessed a recording from the same concert wherein JK was captured reading their banner that read, “Kahit isang karga lang mula sa pinakabata mong fan, Kuya JK.”

Niel exclaimed, “2 months pa lang, kasama ka na nito!” which led JK to believe the baby was two months old.

Fyan mentioned that their baby had been a fan of JK since she was merely two months old.

“May magandang song si JK na narinig ko sa ‘Senior High.’ Upon learning the title of the song, she quickly looked for it on YouTube, where the baby heard ‘Ere’,” she said.

“Naalala ko iyong sinabi ng pedia sa akin na ‘music can soothe babies, music can calm them, can make them relax.’ So ‘di ko naman in-expect na doon sa song na ‘yon ni JK, doon siya ma-re-relax. Every time na mag-pe-play ‘yon, napapansin kong tumatahimik siya.”

“Kasi si baby namin, very iyakin. So noong pinagtugtog ko ‘yong ‘Ere,’ bigla siyang tumahimik tapos hinehele ko, nakatulog. Noong paulit-ulit na ‘nong narinig namin, ginawa ko na siyang pampatulog. Nakita namin na tumatahimik siya once iyon na ‘yong song.”
