Glaiza de Castro recalled how she entered showbiz

Kapuso actress-singer Glaiza de Castro revealed that a missent text opened the doors of show business for her.

Glaiza has come a long way from the time she did her first project in the entertainment industry. Aside from acting, Glaiza also explored the music scene and did some shows. Currently, she is one of the in-demand actresses of GMA-7.

Just like many showbiz personalities, starting her career as an actress was not also easy for Glaiza.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Glaiza de Castro also went through a lot of rejections as she tried to do several auditions here and there. She recalled that when she was already doing gigs, she still went through a lot of tough times.

“I experienced pushing our vehicle because it wouldn’t start. There were instances where I wasn’t allowed into mall shows — hindi kasi pang-artista ang sasakyan!” the actress shared.

She also remembered how a missent text gave her the chance to start acting. Glaiza said that her manager received a message from a talent scout telling them to audition for a minor role in the movie Cool Dudes 24/7.

They found out that the text message was not for Glaiza but director Ruel Bayani let her audition anyway because she was already there.

“Naawa sa ‘kin si direk because I was already there. ‘Isalang na rin kita,’ he told me. I was so embarrassed. It was an improvised scene, so we had no scripts. I was just told to slap Danilo Barrios (one of the lead stars),” the actress recalled.

She got the role. Glaiza said that she really has the drive to do her best not just for herself but also for her family. The actress stressed that getting famous is not her goal. All she wants is to be able to play different roles.
