Thief Left Pair of Slippers in Exchange for Stolen Items in Taguig City

In a bizarre turn of events, a thief left behind a pair of slippers in exchange for the stolen items from a house in Taguig City, displaying an unusual behavior that caught the attention of the homeowner and law enforcement authorities.

The incident was captured on CCTV, showing the thief walking briskly while carrying a bag. Inside the bag were stolen gadgets from the house, with an estimated value of around P50,000.

To the surprise of the homeowner, the thief also took a pair of slippers and wore them before leaving the premises. The strange act of leaving behind a personal item raised eyebrows and piqued curiosity.

The call center agent, who is 33 years old, and his girlfriend, who live on the third floor of an apartment building, reported experiencing two separate instances of theft.

In the second incident, the thief left a mark by leaving the slippers behind, which were of the same brand as the previous stolen items but turned out to be fake.

“Kumbaga, parang hindi normal sa isang magnanakaw na mag-iiwan ng sariling gamit sa crime scene. Hindi siya normal na tao,” remarked the victim, perplexed by the thief’s behavior.

Upon reporting the theft to the authorities, the victim claimed that it was not properly investigated. In fact, the victim was advised by a police officer to simply move to another residence, suggesting a lack of urgency and concern regarding the case.

Fortunately, the Taguig Police have now taken up the investigation and are looking into the matter. The unusual circumstances surrounding the theft, particularly the act of leaving the slippers behind, may provide clues that could aid in identifying the suspect.
