Government Gives ₱100k as One-Time Cash Gift to 3 Centenarians in Ifugao

In a heartwarming gesture, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that three centenarians in Ifugao have been granted a one-time cash gift of ₱100,000 each by the government.

The DSWD-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) facilitated the distribution of the cash gifts to the three elderly individuals. Along with the monetary assistance, they were also presented with a certificate and a Letter of Felicitation from President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., recognizing their long and remarkable lives.

The identities of the beneficiaries were publicly revealed by the DSWD, honoring their contributions and longevity. The recipients were identified as Alejo Padchin from Banaue, and Mimie Laguiwey and William Balangui, both from Tinoc, Ifugao.

This generous cash gift was made possible under Republic Act 10868, also known as the Centenarian Act of 2016. The law provides additional benefits and privileges, including the cash gift, to Filipino citizens who reach the remarkable milestone of a hundred years old.

The recognition and support given to centenarians in Ifugao reflect the government’s commitment to honoring and valuing the elderly population’s significant contributions to society.
