Overcoming jitters, new coach Tina Salak steers FEU to upset of St. Benilde

MANILA, Philippines — From playing for Far Eastern University during her collegiate career, Tina Salak admitted she felt nervous during her coaching debut for her alma mater in the Shakey’s Super League.

But the new Lady Tamaraws head coach managed to overcome the pressure and deliver a successful first game as her young squad pulled off a come-from-behind 25-20, 24-26, 19-25, 25-20, 15-11 victory over NCAA champion College of Saint Benilde on Saturday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
