Ben&Ben marked the end of Pride Month with the release of the music video for its song “Paninindigan Kita,” which celebrates queer love and sheds light on some of the struggles faced by those in the LGBTQ+ community.

The music video features bandmates and real-life couple Pat Lasaten and Agnes Reoma, as seen on Ben&Ben’s YouTube channel yesterday, June 30.

Lasaten and Reoma play a romantic couple as they come to terms with their feelings for each other and fight for their love despite judgment from others. It also shows moments from Lasaten and Reoma’s real-life relationship.

The “Paninindigan Kita” music video has garnered more than 182,000 views as of this writing.

Before the music video was released, Lasaten showed a throwback photo of herself and Reoma as she greeted everyone a happy Pride Month on her Twitter page, also yesterday.

“Happy ‘Paninindigan Kita’ [music video] day,” she said. “‘Di ko na maalala kung anong year eto pero nu’ng nakita ko ‘tong [picture], nalasahan ko bigla yung liempo ng school. Para sa’tin lahat yung lalabas na MV mamaya. Happy Pride.”

(I cannot remember what year this is, but when I saw this picture, I immediately tasted the liempo from school. This [music video] is for all of us. Happy Pride.)

Reoma, meanwhile, expressed happiness via Twitter yesterday when the phrase “PatNes layag” took the No. 1 spot on Twitter Philippines’ trends list shortly after the video was released. “PatNes” refers to Reoma and Lasaten.

Ben&Ben released “Paninindigan Kita” last month, followed by its song “Langyang Pag-ibig” last June 22.

The nine-piece folk pop band is also set to hold a send-off concert at CCP Open Grounds in September before flying to the United States and Canada for a tour.  /ra
