Returning senator Jinggoy Estrada takes his oath of office

MANILA, Philippines — Returning senator Jinggoy Estrada took his oath of office on Tuesday evening.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Gaerlan administered Estrada’s oath in Parañaque City.

During the election campaign period, the senator-elect pushed for the betterment of workers’ welfare, such as the wage hike and flexible work arrangements.

Estrada placed last in the so-called Magic 12 of the senatorial race, earning 15,108,625 votes.

He first won a Senate seat in 2004 and was reelected in 2010.

Estrada’s half-brother JV Ejercito has also made a Senate comeback as he ranked 10th in the race.
