QUIBOLOY – The Philippine National Police (PNP) might revoke Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s firearm licenses within the upcoming week.

Quiboloy, a close friend of former President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently facing multiple arrest warrants related to allegations of child abuse, s*xual assault, trafficking, exploitation, and discrimination.

According to the law governing firearm ownership, applicants should not have been convicted or be currently accused in a pending criminal case carrying a penalty of more than two years.

Based on a report from Inquirer, PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo previously stated that Quiboloy possesses 19 firearms, with one of the licenses for a gun expiring in March. Senator Risa Hontiveros, who led a Senate inquiry into accusations against Quiboloy, questioned the delay in revoking his gun licenses by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Recently, the senator shared social media screenshots depicting members of KOJC wearing camouflage uniforms and carrying weapons.

“What are they waiting for? It’s all over social media that Quiboloy has a private army. They are ready to lay down their lives for him, they are ready to use their firearms to protect Quiboloy. He is actually a threat to our country’s peace and order,” Hontiveros said.

“I am again calling on the PNP Chief, PGen. Rommel Marbil, to lead better. Quiboloy is a high profile fugitive who must be apprehended,” she added.

According to the report, PNP is poised to potentially cancel the firearms permits of fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy this week, as he faces multiple charges, including child abuse.

Speaking at a forum in Manila on Wednesday, Fajardo disclosed that PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil is currently reviewing the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO)’s suggestion to withdraw Quiboloy’s gun licenses, a recommendation forwarded to Marbil on Tuesday.

Fajardo emphasized that there are clear grounds for revoking the licenses granted to the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), citing Section 4 (g) of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, which the FEO highlighted in its recommendation.

“Hopefully within the week, the approved decision of our chief PNP will come out,” she told reporters.
