PH volleyball teams to face visiting VNL squads in friendly matches

MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine volleyball national teams will be facing visiting world-class teams in a series of friendly matches ahead of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) leg hosted by the country.

In the PNVF International Challenge, the women’s squad that competed in the recent 31st Southeast Asian Games will be facing VNL teams Thailand on June 11 at 6pm and Japan on June 12 at 4pm at Filoil Flying V Arena.

The SEA Games men’s team, meanwhile, will tangle with Japan on June 16 at 4pm and Germany on June 27 at 4pm at the same venue.

Tickets for the tune-up matches are already on sale.

Asian powerhouse teams Thailand and Japan arrived in the country on Tuesday to continue their build-up for the VNL.

The women’s VNL matches are from June 14 to 19 at Smart Araneta Coliseum while the men’s games are from June 21 to 26.

This is the first time that the Philippines is hosting the VNL legs, which feature some of the world’s best teams.
