THE Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) resumed its regular train service on Saturday.

LRTA management said its trains rolled out at 5 a.m. The last trip from Santolan station will be at 8:30 p.m. while the one in Recto will be at 9 p.m.

The LRT 2 shortened its operating hours last April 17 due to a spike in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases among its employees.

LRT 2 has 1,978 personnel, 1,942 of whom were tested.

As of April 29, the LRTA logged 129 active cases while 208 have recovered.

The Department of Transportation and its attached agencies in the Railways sector assures it will continue to observe Covid-19 protocols to curb the spread of the virus.
