‘Nanlaban’ in Zambales: Drug suspect slain in clash with cops during buy-bust

IBA, Zambales—A drug suspect on the police list of priority targets was killed in a gunfight with policemen during a buy-bust operation here on Monday (March 8).

Investigators identified the slain suspect as Rusel Toceno, alias “Nonong,” 43, a resident of this town.

Police said Toceno, who was No. 8 on a list or priority targets, clashed with law enforcers that led to his instantaneous death.

The suspect was reportedly a member of the Ducusin drug group in the province and was also the town’s top drug suspect.

Police said found in Toceno’s possession were 20 packets of crystal meth, or shabu, weighing some 10 grams and worth an estimated P80,000. Police also found a pistol, bullets and motorcycle belonging to the slain suspect.
