SHEYNNISS PALACIOS – Find out why Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios cried at her motorcade in Manila.

The Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios arrived in Manila on May 1 as part of her Asian tour, having previously visited Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and China. Her departure is slated for May 7, with India being her next scheduled destination.

Overwhelmed with emotions, Sheynnis was moved to tears by the overwhelming love shown by her Filipino supporters during her motorcade at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City on May 5th.

Sheynnis Palacios’ tears began as soon as she exited the red SUV that transported her to the beginning of the parade on Pacific Drive. Despite her tears, she maintained a charming smile and waved to the crowd who endured the hot tropical weather of the dry season to show their support.

Perched atop a flower-decorated convertible designed with the colors of the Philippine flag, the Nicaraguan beauty exuded regal elegance in a meticulously embellished red ball gown. Crowds of her devoted admirers eagerly lined the parade route, eagerly awaiting a glimpse of her, with the procession marked by the sounds of a marching band.

The Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH) orchestrated her arrival in Manila and organized a celebratory parade labeled as a “homecoming,” signaling to Palacios that she was embraced as part of the country and providing her with an experience she had yet to encounter.

Complications between her national pageant organizers and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega had previously hindered her return home following her historic win as the first Miss Universe titleholder from Nicaragua. Additionally, her team faced restrictions from entering the Central American nation.

Midway through the procession, she unfurled a Nicaraguan flag, tears streaming down her face as she held it close to her chest. Gently placing the flag on the hem of her gown, she continued to reciprocate the affection showered upon her by the crowd, who called out her name and hailed her homeland with cries of “Sheynnis!” and “Nicaragua!” Her responses of “thank you” and “I love you” echoed her appreciation.

“We are more than a beauty pageant, we are the perfect platform for every single woman who want to celebrate every country that we have in our world. And Miss Universe is the platform to celebrate the diversity, the beauty in diversity that exists in our society today,” Sheynnis said.

“It is my mission and my responsibility to represent you, Filipino people, and obviously every single people around the world. It’s a pleasure to be your Miss Universe 2023, and I’m gonna keep working hard to leave a huge legacy for our society. Thank you for believing in me, and to support my dream, because my dream came true thanks to all of you. Gracias, Filipinas (thank you, Philippines),” she continued.

Afterwards, she concluded her brief address with a classic pageant-style introduction, declaring, “Sheynnis Palacios-Cornejo, Nicaragua!” This was followed by tears
