Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Zambales, May 6, 2024

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.0 magnitude quake in Zambales today, May 6, 2024. Here are the details.

Following the 4.1 magnitude earthquake in Davao Oriental earlier today, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in a neighboring province. According to the agency, the quake recently hit Zambales and it has a magnitude of 4.0.

The earthquake today that struck Zambales, Monday, May 6, 2024, was tectonic in origin.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Zambales was located at 15.10°North, 119.78°East – 031 km South 77° West of Cabangan. It had a depth of focus of 014 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake neither aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake and as well as the nearby areas. The following instrumental intensities were recorded:

• San Antonio, Zambales
