Awra Briguela Reveals Challenges Encountered During Brawl Incident in 2023

AWRA BRIGUELA – Comedian and vlogger Awra Briguela opened up about his emotional struggle during the Poblacion brawl in 2023.

Awra Briguela admitted his mistake when he got involved in a brawl last year. He said he went astray back then because he was trying to escape his problems.

He claimed that he used to spend almost every night in bars, drinking to escape his troubles momentarily. He made headlines when he got into a brawl at a bar in Makati City on June 29, 2023.

Videos of Awra Briguela engaging in fights with heated individuals in the bar went viral. He was also seen resisting the police as they tried to restrain him. He was taken to the precinct and detained for several days. He faced multiple charges as well.

Nearly a year later, Awra expressed regret over his actions. Awra spoke about the incident in a YouTube interview with Vice Ganda on May 2, 2024.

“I’m okay. I’m getting better, and I’m getting stronger,” the comedian responded when asked about that incident.

Vice Ganda, who serves as Awra’s manager, also addressed the situation. Speaking on behalf of his protege, the host remarked, “Ang suma naman nun, lahat kayo nagkamali. Lahat kayo may sobra at pagkukulang.”

“Inamin mo naman yun, di ba? Hindi mo naman ine-excuse yung sarili mo sa pagkakamaling nangyari nung gabing iyon.”

“Yeah, I own up to my mistakes,” Awra interjected.

Awra confessed to experiencing a breakdown following the controversy.

He said, “Ako yung taong hindi ko kayang magpakita ng weakness ko sa mga taong mahal ko, gano’n.

“Kaya after what happened, kaya after nung nakauwi na ‘ko, siyempre, lugmok na lugmok na ako. Umiyak na ako. Yung time na hindi ko na talaga kaya.

“Nung nakulong ako parang hindi ko pa rin siya ma-realize na nangyayari na sa akin yun.”
