Is it true that Gretchen Barretto has political plans?

A source claimed that socialte Gretchen Barretto is planning to enter politics for the 2025 midterm elections.

Gretchen is one of the most popular actresses of her generation. She is known for her beauty, grace, and acting caliber in portraying different roles in movies and TV series.

However, Gretchen has been inactive in showbiz for many years already. She also started to be inactive on social media a few years ago. She shared previously that being inactive on social media had a lot of good effect on her. It saved her time and money as well.

In a recent article shared by entertainment writer Salve Asis in Pilipino Star Ngayon, she shared what a source revealed about the alleged future plan of Gretchen Barretto that involved politics.

The source said that La Greta plans to run for representative. However, the writer did not reveal what district in Manila.

Binanggit na ng source kung anong district sa lugar sa Maynila, pero baka raw magkaroon agad-agad ng intrigahan kaya ‘wag muna naming isulat,” Asis shared.

It was also said that businessman Atong Ang, Greta’s friend and business partner, was one of those who convinced her to run for the next elections. The source also revealed that the former actress is excited about this idea.

Asis also mentioned that during the height of the pandemic, Gretchen was tagged “santa ng mga ayuda” because of the Love Boxes with sacks of rice she gave to people in the entertainment industry.

The writer said that aside from this, Gretchen Barretto also gave sacks of rice to several hospitals, especially San Lazaro and Philippine General Hospital. There was also a time when she donated an ambulance to a hospital in Mandaluyong. The socialite also extended help to LGUs, such as in Cavite at Rizal. Greta also gave away wheelchairs.
