On Thursday, May 2, actress Bea Alonzo filed cyber libel complaints against showbiz talk show hosts Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz. She also filed the same complaint with their program co-hosts.

Moreover, she filed a separate complaint against an unidentified online user pretending to having a close relationship with her. She filed these before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office with her lawyer Joey Garcia and manager Shirley Kuan.

In her complaint affidavit, the actress stressed that she’s been a victim of false, malicious, and damaging information spread by the unidentified online user. This claim was then discussed by Fermin and Diaz in their respective online show and columns which defamed the actress. This continued with even including to mention the alleged report about her not paying the correct tax.

In a report from ABS-CBN, she finally made this decision because of the claims and statements made that damaged her. This is the first time that she did this after enduring all of those for years with “silence, dignity, and grace”. The lawyer of the actress added, “But there is always a limit and now is the time for definitive legal action.”

The camp of the actress hopes that immediate action will be done and that the respondents will be summoned by the Office of the City Prosecutor.

“The allegations in her complaints are supported with proper evidence. We expect that the Office of the City Prosecutor of Quezon City will issue subpoenas to the individuals concerned, who will be given the opportunity to submit their counter-affidavits. We will be ready to respond when the time comes,” the lawyer said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Alonzo and Dominic Roque called it quits in February. Their engagement was called off and no wedding from them is going to happen. This confirmation came after talk show host Boy Abunda revealed the couples’ split in his Kapuso program.
