“This sparked jealousy and led to a heated argument between the couple, culminating in the victim expressing thoughts of self-harm. In a desperate attempt to intervene, the live-in partner grappled with the victim, leading to a struggle inside their room,” the report said.

Triggered by the escalating conflict, the 7-year-old retrieved his father’s service firearm and shot him on the left side of his neck resulting in his instantaneous death, the report added.

All three persons in the house are considered persons of interests and underwent paraffin tests, said Capt. Hanna Mesheil Banquil, Sagay deputy police chief, said on Sunday.
