PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring hot weather conditions over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (April 27, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Metro Manila remains under a danger heat index level due to the easterlies.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas during severe thunderstorms.

With 43 degrees Celsius at the NAIA, Pasay City station, and 42 degrees Celsius at the Science Garden in Quezon City, the Heat Index in Metro Manila remains under the “dangerous” level.

The public is recommended to take precautions against heat exhaustion and cramps based on the heat index chart, as prolonged exposure might result in heat stroke.

The agency advised the public to take precautions against heat exhaustion and cramps based on the heat index chart, as prolonged exposure might result in heat stroke.

When relative humidity is taken into consideration, the heat index provides an accurate assessment of how hot a place feels.

PAGASA advised Filipinos to drink plenty of water, avoid tea, coffee, soda, or liquor, use heat-protective gear, limit outdoor activities, and schedule heavy-duty activities at the start or end of the day.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
