Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Sarangani, April 25, 2024

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.4 magnitude quake in Sarangani today, April 25, 2024. Here are the details.

Following the 4.0 magnitude earthquake in Dinagat Islands earlier today, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake recently-hit Sarangani and it has a magnitude of 4.4.

The earthquake today that struck Sarangani, Thursday, April 25, 2024, was tectonic in origin. It struck a part of the province at 05:17 a.m.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Sarangani was located at 05.40°North, 124.00°East – 092 km South 37° West of Maitum. It had a depth of focus of 523 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake neither aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake and as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
