PAGASA Says HPA & LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau has reported that brighter weather will prevail in Luzon, while heat persists over Visayas.

On Monday (April 22, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough or extension of a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone but it will bring high chances of rain over Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

The ridge of high pressure extends over the eastern section of Northern Luzon. Hot and humid weather will still be experienced, particularly in Luzon and Visayas.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
