LIZA MARCOS – First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos said they will not use their power against critics.

In an interview, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos conveyed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and their family opted not to strike back against their detractors, recognizing that wielding power against political adversaries would be counterproductive to nation-building.

Liza emphasized her husband’s belief that the cycle of attacks and vindictiveness must come to an end. She expressed this stance during an hour-long exclusive interview with broadcaster Anthony Taberna, broadcasted on his YouTube channel.

Liza Marcos challenged critics to confront them but asserted she wouldn’t descend to their level. Playfully referring to herself as the “Fierce Lady,” she remarked that their adversaries would only incur negative consequences as karma catches up with them.

Despite facing orchestrated efforts to undermine them, Liza affirmed that her family would refrain from using their authority to silence social media critics. She highlighted the importance of setting limits, emphasizing that such actions don’t align with Filipino values.

Addressing the issue directly, Liza Marcos underscored that even with their positions of power, they choose not to retaliate aggressively. She dismissed the idea of pursuing legal action against their bashers, seeing it as unproductive for nation-building.

“Ito na lang ha. If you’re the President of the Philippines and I am the Fierce Lady, Fierce ha, sa palagay mo hindi ko kayang gawin ’yan? … But it has to stop. This cannot be. Hindi ganun ’yung Pinoy,” Liza said.

She went on: “Let them do their thing. Sa palagay mo ba hindi namin kaya gawin ’yan? You’re the President of the country.”

Reflecting on her husband’s approach, Liza recalled that Marcos Jr. never resorted to speaking ill of others or filing charges against those who attacked him. She stressed the need to break the cycle of vindictiveness for the sake of progress.

The conversation arose following inquiries about her relationship with Vice President Sara Duterte, which led to tensions and attacks involving Duterte’s daughter and her husband’s predecessor, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
