World’s first-ever ‘Miss AI’ beauty pageant launched with a whopping cash prize
Artificial intelligence-generated influencers and models may now aspire to have the title of “Miss AI.”
Yes, you read that right. The first AI beauty pageant in history has arrived to crown artificial intelligence models for their flawless pixelation.
The “Miss AI” pageant, where women built using AI compete to become the digital counterpart of Miss World, is the first competition to be launched by the World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs)—an international awards program aimed at honoring the successes of AI developers worldwide.
Although the idea of an AI influencer pageant could sound bizarre, unlike real-life pageant contenders who are typically criticized for their appearance, character, and charitable work, Miss AI contestants will be evaluated in three areas: beauty, technical skill, and social clout.
Assessing the traditional pageantry components—beauty, poise, and answers to a series of questions—is the primary focus of beauty. The tech will be centered on the ability to use and utilize AI tools to build the AI model. The evaluation of social clout will be based on fan engagement metrics, audience growth rate, and usage of other platforms like Instagram.
The competition will take place virtually, with a panel of judges consisting of two of the biggest AI-generated influencers in the world, Emily Pellegrini and Aitana Lopez, as well as two human judges, Miss Great Britain head judge and pageant historian Sally-Ann Fawcett and marketing specialist Andrew Bloch.
“Crossing traditional pageantry with technology, the Miss AI contest signifies a monumental leap forward,” Fawcett said in a statement.
“This year, the Miss Universe organization scrapped the age limit and allowed married women and moms to take part. Maybe, over the next few years, they will allow AI contestants to enter too,” she went on.
For a chance to win the Miss AI title, participants can enter the AI-generated women they have developed.
Entrants must submit an image of their AI creation. Though there are no restrictions on the tools used, the WAICAs said entries must be 100 percent AI-generated. “Miss AI welcomes creations produced from any type of generator, whether it’s DeepAI, Midjourney, or your own tool,” the rules read.
In addition to a $5,000 monetary award, the AI designer who wins Miss AI will have the benefit of Imagine Education’s $3,000 Mentorship Program and more than $5,000 in PR support. Prizes will also be awarded to the Miss AI competition runners-up and third-place finishers.
“The creator economy is an extremely exciting place to be right now,” Miss AI co-founder Will Monange said. “There’s been exponential growth in AI creators entering the space, and with the help of our platform, growing their fan bases and monetizing content. Miss AI recognizes talent and tech, which will help to raise standards within the industry.”
While no specific date has been announced, the online award ceremony is expected to happen later this month, and the winners will be declared on May 10.
