AI-AI DELAS ALAS – Philippine Comedy Queen Ai-ai delas Alas revealed some detail about her first date with Gerald Sibayan.

Martina Eileen Hernandez delas Alas-Sibayan, professionally known as Aiai delas Alas, gained prominence as an actress-comedienne in both film and television, notably achieving stardom with the highly successful movie “Ang Tanging Ina.”

Recognized as the “Queen of Comedy” in the Philippines, the 57-year-old celebrity is happily married to Gerald Sibayan, a non-showbiz guy employed as a pilot.

Aiai delas Alas expresses immense pride in her spouse Gerald Sibayan, whom she admires for his unwavering sense of responsibility. During an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on March 25, 2024, Aiai briefly touched upon her husband.

She considers Gerald to be a precious blessing, describing him as one of the extraordinary gifts bestowed upon her by God. Reflecting on their relationship, Aiai shared, “Gerald is one of the super gifts God has given me.”

Aiai Delas Alas admitted that she had conditions when she was invited on a first date by her now-husband Gerald Sibayan. Recently, Aiai and Gerald celebrated their 10th anniversary as a couple.

They even had a romantic photoshoot with their fur baby Sailor to celebrate a decade of being together.

Aiai also recalled their first date with Gerald in a Facebook post. The Comedy Queen recounted that they first went on a date at a coffee shop with her now-husband.

Looking back, Aiai shared, “Gerald: Ms Ganda, pwede ka bang mai-date.

“AiAi: Hoy bagets, kung ako ang mag babayad hindi na ko makikipag-date sa’yo.

“Gerald: May pera ‘ko, syempre ako mag-babayad

“Aiai : Ok”

According to Aiai, she only ordered soy milk and cheesecake that day because she thought Gerald didn’t have much money with him.

“Ang arte ko, ‘kala ko kasi konte lang dala n’ya. Nakakahiya naman magbakulaw ako sa paglamon.”

After 10 years, Gerald asked Aiai why she only ordered a little on their first date.

Aiai’s funny story was that she wished they had eaten at a restaurant when she found out he actually had three thousand in his wallet.

“Yun lang nakalimutan ko na ending after one month jowa ko na s’ya . ‘Yun lang bye.”

Aiai and Gerald got married in December 2017 at Christ the King Parish Church in Greenmeadows, Quezon City. Aiai has two children with her ex-husband Miguel Vera, Shaun Nicolo, and Sophia. Actor Sancho Delas Alas is the comedian’s son from the late Rey Maltezo dela Cruz.
