Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, March 27, 2024

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.4 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental today, March 27, 2024. Here are the details.

Following the 4.2 magnitude earthquake in Surigao del Sur a few weeks ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake hit Davao Occidental today with a magnitude of 4.4

The earthquake today that struck Davao Occidental, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, was tectonic in origin.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 02.06°North, 126.46°East – 388 km South 17° East of Balut Island. It had a depth of focus of 078 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
