Chef Expresses Gratitude to Housemaid for Making Prosperity Bowl Using Her Own Money

A chef expressed his gratitude towards their housemaid for spending her own money to make a prosperity bowl.

Chef Gelo Guison, a Facebook user, expressed his gratitude to their household helper for a thoughtful act involving a “prosperity bowl.” The post quickly went viral, garnering reactions from touched netizens.

About three months ago, Guison’s family welcomed a new helper into their home. During the New Year celebration, his family had to go out for a while. Upon their return, they were surprised to find a prosperity bowl on the table, left by their helper.

The housemaid personally bought eggs, rice, and even added some coins and bills.

Personally, Guison doesn’t usually believe in such practices, but he was deeply moved by the maid’s gesture. The new helper showed genuine care although she didn’t have to do it. She didn’t have to spend money, but because of her kindness towards Gelo, she made the effort.

This is a lesson for him to embrace more, the importance of showing care for others. He explained that we are all connected in some way, and having concern for each other matters. The chef expressed his heartfelt gratitude to their helper identified as Ate Digna.

Itong new year, umalis kami. Pagbalik namin, may prosperity bowl na sa lamesa. Iniwan niya. Siya ang bumili ng itlog, bigas at naglagay ng barya at pera.

Hindi ako naniniwala sa ganyang mga practices, pero sobrang touched ako dun sa gesture. Ganyan yung bago naming kasambahay, may malasakit.

Pwede namang hindi niya gawin. Pwede namang di na siya gumasta- pero dahil sa malasakit niya sa amin, nag-effort siya.

Siguro, this is a lesson that I need to embrace more. Ang mas magkaroon ng malasakit sa kapwa dahil lahat naman tayo konektado.
