Naia Black shares an update about Pura Luka Vega. Here’s the post.

PURA LUKA VEGA – The Drag artist was arrested on Wednesday and here’s an update about the case of the controversial personality.

On Wednesday, October 4, Pura Luka Vega whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagante was arrested. The arrest came after he allegedly skipped the preliminary investigations of their criminal case in Manila.

To recall, the embattled Drag artist became controversial due to his “Ama Namin” performance.

This also led to him facing complaints from religious groups such as “Hijos del Nazareno – Central” and “Philippines for Jesus Movement” in violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code. He was also declared persona non grata in many localities.

Pura is persona non grata in Cebu City, Floridablanca in Pampanga, General Santos City, Toboso in Negros Occidental, Bukidnon, Dinagat Islands, Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Occidental Mindoro, and among others.

His bail is Php 72,000.00. He was arrested in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and was directly brought to the Manila Police District Station 3.

Rod Singh announced that donation channels have opened for Luka’s bail and as of 1 p.m. on October 6, the amount collected reached a total of Php 552,899.22.

In an update from ‘Drag Den Philippines Season 1’ contestant Naia Black, the bail has accordingly been granted already after a clarificatory hearing, however, it looks like Luka would have to stay another night in jail. Unfortunately, they were late in submitting the requirement for the release.

Naia said in a post, “highly unlikely na makakalabas si luka today. mukhang balak talaga nila ipagstay hanggang weekend.”

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines found his “Ama Namin” performance “blasphemous” and disrespectful which was agreed by a lot of people. The cases filed against him were due to violation of a law that prohibits “indecent or immoral plays, scenes, acts or shows” that “offend any race or religion”.
