Ronald recounts his experience, expressing his surprise at the positive encounter with a female rider. According to the customer, it was his first time booking a female rider after numerous rides using the motorcycle ride-hailing service.

As he disembarked from the bus in Magallanes, coming from Los Baños, he promptly booked an Angkas ride to his appointment in Makati. When Ate Raziel arrived, she greeted him warmly, instantly lightening the mood. Ronald was also impressed by her attentiveness in ensuring his comfort during the ride.

“Pagbaba ko ng bus sa Magallanes galing Los Baños, nag-book agad ako ng Angkas, papunta sa appointment ko somewhere in Makati. Sa ilang taon kong pag-Angkas, first time kong maka-book ng babaeng rider. Pagdating ni Ate, bumati agad siya, at nakakagaan ng mood ’yung pagbati niya. Napakamaalalay rin siya sa pagpapasakay sa’kin sa motor niya,” Ronald said.

After the trip, Ronald gave Ate Raziel a 5-star rating and was delighted by her enthusiastic response. However, he was taken aback when she expressed her joy at receiving a 5-star rating. She revealed that she rarely received such ratings because of biases against female riders.

“Pag-abot ko ng bayad, sabi ko, sa kanya na ’yung sukli, pandagdag sa kinita niya nung araw na ’yun. Binigyan ko rin siya ng 5 stars kasi maayos naman ’yung byahe, lalo na si Ate,” he added.

Ronald was disappointed to learn that some passengers still harbor biases against female riders.
