Eat Bulaga Offered TV5 To Transfer A Decade Ago – Bullet Jalosjos
Bullet Jalosjos shared that his father wanted Eat Bulaga to stay in GMA
TAPE Inc. chief finance officer Bullet Jalosjos revealed that billionaire businessman Manny V. Pangilinan offered his father Romy Jalosjos to transfer Eat Bulaga to TV5 a decade ago.
Following the decision of veteran hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and other hosts to leave TAPE Inc, it was announced recently that they signed a new contract with Mediaquest owned by MVP.
The noontime show on GMA now has a different set of hosts led by Paolo Contis. In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Bullet Jalosjos revealed that even a decade ago, MVP had already tried to persuade his father.
Bullet shared that years ago when MVP was trying to establish TV5, he witnessed the conversation that happened between his father and the billionaire businessman.
“I’d want to disclose something, ‘no. This happened way, way back. Maybe 10 years ago, 12 years ago,” the TAPE CFO shared. It was during a lunch meeting. “And I was there — me and my dad, MVP — and there were negotiations on the table,” Bullet said.
He shared that MVP asked his father when Eat Bulaga will transfer to TV5 since other talents of TAPE were already doing shows on TV5. At that time, Vic Sotto, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola were already doing The Jose and Wally Show Starring Vic Sotto between 2011-2012.
Bullet said that MVP offered a big amount to his father for this offer. The TAPE CFO was even surprised when the TV5 owner brought out a check.
“Nagtinginan kami ni Dad. Because we didn’t actually go there for the negotiations. It was another thing that we talked about. Pero na-bring up yun, e. My dad goes, ‘Boss, siguro naman you’ll respect me more if I do this.’ Binalik niya po yung tsek,” he revealed.
However, Bullet said that his father honored the deal he has with GMA because, during the time when Eat Bulaga has no home, the Kapuso network accepted them with arms wide open.
