Cardin not running for reelection

Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin will not seek reelection in 2024, his spokesperson Sue Walitsky confirmed on Monday morning.

Cardin has served in the Senate for three terms and his vacancy will create a wide-open race to succeed him in the blue state. His plans were first reported by the Baltimore Sun.
