4 Inmates Escaped from Zamboanga City Custodial Facility

4 Inmates from Zamboanga City Custodial Facility on the Hunt After Jailbreak

Police authorities are now looking for four (4) inmates following a jailbreak in Zamboanga City custodial facility.

Four detainees at Zamboanga City Police Station 8 escaped by severing the facility’s steel bars. According to the preliminary report from the police station in Barangay Sinunuc, the jailbreak occurred at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

When there was a commotion and shouting in the facility, the other detainees noticed this, prompting the detention guard to check it. According to the report, the other people in police custody alerted the prison guard on duty that four of them had escaped.

It is now 2:47 p.m. One of the four escapees turned himself in to the police on Sunday. The manhunt is still ongoing, and officers are contacting other police stations. The detainees are charged with violating Republic Act No. 9165, often known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Earlier, ten inmates were reported to have broken into the Pasay City police Malibay Sub-Station 6 detention facility. Before fleeing, the ten detainees overpowered the duty jailer and seized his service weapons, money, and keys to the jail.

According to police, the fugitives are wanted for carjacking, robbery, and drug trafficking. One of them was also reportedly apprehended for unlawful gaming. The ninth suspect, who allegedly provoked the escape, was apprehended just after midnight, as a result of the ongoing manhunt.
