Garrett Bolden is out with his first-ever album under GMA Music titled “Chapters.” 

It contains previously-released singles “Lilipad Na” and “Handa Na Maghintay,” as with his self-penned “Our Love,”  the theme song of “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon,” and “Pwede Pa Ba,” the theme song of the Thai series “Bad Romeo.”

Culled from the album is the single “Ikaw Pala,” a revival of Kris Lawrence’s classic hit song from the early 2000s.

Garrett is excited with the milestone in his career.

“Nae-excite po ako kasi it’s a fulfillment for me to release my first album. Nung medyo bata ako gusto ko talaga na magkaroon ng sariling CDs tapos pipirmahan. Pero since we’re on a digital era na, releasing an album this time is really a blessing kaya I’m thankful for it po.”

The singer considers the release of the album a new chapter in his life, leading to more opportunities and possibilities.

He personally thought of the title “Chapters” because, as he explained all his previous singles as with “Ikaw Pala” offer something different in terms of musicality.

Like each one is a different chapter in a book.  

He also shared the process of creating the album and choosing to revive “Ikaw Pala.”

“During the process of picking songs at sa pag-iisip ng aking next single, there have been a couple of songs in our mind. Pero nung narinig namin itong ‘Ikaw Pala,’ parang ang sarap po talagang bigyan ng sariling interpretation. Kaya ito po ‘yung napili namin and it turned out to be a good version of the song.”

He added that he decided to release a revival this time because he believes there are so many beautiful and good OPM tunes that have already been written and released, and he wants the younger generation to also know these songs.

As to his remarkable journey in “Miss Saigon,” he said, “‘Yung journey ko po ng ‘Miss Saigon’ is something that I would not forget kasi it’s my first big production,  and it’s ‘Miss Saigon.’ I’m thankful for all the experience na nakuha ko during the production. Hopefully, I could do more of that.”

He added, “Sa music career naman po, I’ll continue to release more songs. There’s another one coming out very soon, but that’s going to be a secret for now. Sana abangan ng mga Kapuso.”

Garrett earlier won as New Male Recording Artist at the 11th PMPC Star Awards for Music for “Lilipad Na.”

He was also named the People’s Choice for New Male Artist at the 33rd Awit Awards and Male Pop Recording Artist at the 12th PMPC Star Awards For Music for “Handa Na Maghintay.”
