Magnitude 4.1 earthquake hits Abra

 

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Abra on Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs detected the earthquake at 4:15 a.m. and traced its epicenter eight kilometers northwest of Lagayan, Abra.

The tectonic earthquake’s depth of focus was three kilometers.

State seismologists measured the tremor at Instrumental Intensity I in Vigan City in Ilocos Sur and Bangued, Abra.

No aftershocks and damage are expected, Phivolcs said.

Abra was rocked by two powerful earthquakes this year.
