Alden Richards Speaks About AlDub Not Reaching The Romantic Stage

Alden Richards breaks his silence on AlDub issue

Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards has spoken about his AlDub love team with Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza that did not reach the romantic stage.

Alden and Maine created a phenomenal onscreen partnership that is unique in the history of showbiz in the Philippines. Their tandem in Eat Bulaga‘s Kalyesere received an overwhelming response from the viewers and the AlDub Nation was born.

However, the fact that Alden and Maine’s onscreen partnership did not reach the level of a real-life relationship, made fans disappointed. Some have already moved on and left the fandom while there were those who continue to support them individually.

On the other hand, there are a lot of AlDub fans who still stick to their belief that Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards are a real-life couple and that they have a baby. Despite the fact that Maine and Alden have reiterated that they are just friends and the rumors that they have a child together are not true, some fans still believe what they want to believe.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the Asia’s Multimedia Star said that he is taking full responsibility for why the AlDub did not reach the romantic stage.

“We’re grateful but I make a stand to not let people control my life. Ito ang prinsipyo ko sa buhay. Hindi ako property ng kahit sino. I have my own choices, I have my own decisions so I stick to that,” Alden said.

He added that in the entertainment industry, the pairings of two celebrities can be unfair because this creates pressure on both sides. Alden is well-aware of the fact that they can’t please everybody.

During the press conference, the actor was also asked what it takes for a love team to be successful. He said that it is a team and so they have to work together and that it’s not the other half who will decide.

“Hindi man maging kayo, hindi man kayo maging involved romantically, at the end of the day, kailangan maging magkaibigan kayong dalawa,” Alden Richards said.
