The healing process has started.

In his effort to repair and recover from a “self-destructing” behavior during an NCAA game with College of St. Benilde on Nov. 8, John Amores went to the Blazers practice on Sunday to apologize.

He was remorseful for his violent action that had made him the most “hated” basketball player around.

During that “wildest” moment of his life, the former Jose Rizal University forward, rushed towards the CSB bench and threw punches along the way like a man possessed.

This time, he was the complete opposite – like an altar boy serving the devoted churchgoers.  

Led by coach Charles Tiu, the Blazers welcomed Amores with open arms.

The 23-year-old Amores, who was eventually expelled from JRU’s basketball team on top of an indefinite ban from the NCAA last week, seemed to be taking the proper steps towards accountability. 

In a photo circulated on social media, Amores was seen with a huge smile 12 days after losing his cool.

Faced with two separate complaints, Amores will be tackling a long road to recovery starting with JRU’s counseling program. 

The league, on the other hand, has expressed that Amores’ return on the hard court could still be possible in the future, perhaps in the pro league.

But that will all depend on his recovery program.
