10 drug suspects busted in Calabarzon; shabu worth over P444,000 seized

LUCENA CITY – Police confiscated more than P444,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and arrested 10 suspects in buy-bust operations on Saturday and Sunday (November 19 and 20) in Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon provinces.

The Police Regional Office 4A in a report said members of the Rizal drug enforcement unit busted Rose Anne Lerit, Jessie Felicision, Darryl Bejerano, Rey Anthony Yadao, Bienvenido Bejerano, and Venus Piala after they sold shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) San Isidro in Cainta town around 1:20 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities seized from the group 13 sachets of meth weighing 35 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P238,000. The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.

Police were tracking the source of the illegal drugs.

In Calamba City, Laguna, local police anti-illegal drugs operatives caught Abdul Rahman Cali and Christian Gatab in a sting operation in Barangay Parian around 8:25 p.m.

The suspect yielded one sachet of shabu weighing 25.2 grams with a DDB value of P171,360.

Investigators were also tracking the source of the meth.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, police chief in Lucena City, Quezon, said their anti-narcotics unit arrested an alleged drug group member Nenita Isaac and her associate Jayson Manalo in Barangay 10 around 12:24 a.m. Sunday.

The duo, both ex-drug convicts, possessed P35,292 worth of shabu when collared after they sold the illegal substance to a poseur buyer.

All suspects were detained in local police jails and are facing charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
