Gerald Anderson’s Reminder To Men: ‘Be a good citizen, person, partner’

Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson has this reminder to his fellow men as he was asked about the concept of modern masculinity.

Gerald, together with his A Family Affair co-actor Sam Milby, was featured on the cover of the latest digital magazine Flex. Based on the article in Bandera, the magazine, “aims to end toxic masculinity by promoting a new idea called modern masculinity.”

During the interview, Gerald and Sam were asked about their own concept of modern masculinity. Gerald said that he is kind of old school. He believes that men should know their responsibilities and own up to these responsibilities.

The actor also said that if something positive happens, then, they should learn from it. “Do more of it. Be a good citizen, be a good person, be a good partner, and be a good member of the family. Alagaan mo ‘yung pamilya mo, alagaan mo ‘yung mahal mo sa buhay,” Gerald Anderson stressed.

He also reminded men to be humble despite being competitive. Respect should always be there as well, Gerald said. “Always learn from your mistakes and try to be a good person. Para sa akin, I think that’s the modern man,” he added.

For Sam Milby, men should feel contentment in their lives. He also said that men should welcome new things to learn. At 38, Sam can say that he is happy and contented and in love with his girlfriend Catriona Gray.

With his 16 years in the entertainment industry, Sam said that he feels blessed that he still has work. “It’s the growth that you go to kasi kung wala kang pinagdadaanan, kung wala kang pagsubok sa buhay, you have no growth,” the actor-singer said.

Sam Milby also highlighted the importance of learning from your mistakes and growing from them. He also values humility. Sam added that he wants to keep growing.
