A cautionary tale

Based on its title, one would think “#DoYouThinkIAmSexy” simply another vain exercise meant to further nothing else but sexual gratification.

That it also stars Cloe Barreto, one of today’s hottest sexpots, only adds to the impression.

It should be said, however, that “#DoYouThinkIAmSexy” offers more than that. It is actually a cautionary tale of sorts. It is about lust, exploitation, and the consequences that come with it.

In the film, a horny teacher played by actor Marco Gomez learned that one of his students as played by Cloe, supports herself as a performer who streams provocative videos via the Internet.

He would go on to coerce her into having sex with him.

Cloe is not a willing victim. She will not take it sitting down. She would go on to exact revenge in a manner she deems most fitting.

We will not disclose it here but suffice it to say that things get bloody.

Writer-director Dennis N. Marasigan, recipient of Best Screenplay awards at the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Golden Screen Awards, explains, “I am not saying what Cloe’s character did here is the right thing to do but it could happen. The question is: Should we blame the abuser or the abused?”

“#DoYouThinkIAmSexy,” streams on Vivamax.
