Rain to continue in most parts of Luzon due to LPA, southwest monsoon

MANILA, Philippines — The combined effects of a low-pressure area (LPA) near Luzon and the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat,” will continue to bring rain over most of Luzon on Tuesday.

This was the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) with itssenior weather specialist Chriz Perez saying the LPA was last spotted 270 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan, and that it is not expected to escalate into a storm.
