Netizens Expressed Reactions After Cops Arrest Delivery Rider for Beating Counterflowing Car Driver

A delivery rider has been arrested for beating a counterflowing car driver who nearly hits him in Quezon City.

A cellphone video caught the delivery rider beating a drunk car driver who counter flowed along the road and nearly hits him. After a few moments, the delivery rider identified as Gabriel Gonzales immediately escaped after the incident.

The police authorities were able to trace and arrest the suspect with the help of CCTV footage. The rider gets emotional and bursts into tears after he was arrested for defending himself against the drunk driver.

“Hindi ko matanggap na ako nandito sa sitwasyon na to kasi, siya nga dapat nandito kasi sinagasaan niya ako,” Gabriel said.

QCPD PLT. Anthony Dacquel said that the intense fistfight started due to a traffic altercation. The drunk car driver nearly hits the delivery rider after he counterflowed in the opposite lane.

“Supposedly one way ang Macaya palabras, so nagcounterflow yung ating biktima, nung magkasagian nagkaroon ng pagtatalo, eh sapagkat nakainom itong biktima natin kaya makulit ang nagging reaksyon nito,” Dacquel said.

According to a witness, the driver immediately fell to the ground after being punched by Gonzales. The rider repeatedly punched the helpless driver who is currently confined at the hospital after suffering serious injuries.
