37 children, seniors evacuated in Bulusan town
LEGAZPI CITY – At least 37 children and senior citizens in Bulusan town in Sorsogon were evacuated due to the threat of Mount Bulusan.
Ken Marc Ragasa, head of municipal disaster risk reduction and management office of Bulusan, said in a report that the vulnerable population of Barangay (village) San Roque was evacuated to their relatives’ houses since Saturday, June 11.

The residents were living inside the 4-kilometer radius danger zone of the volcano.
Ragasa said they already prepositioned the response vehicle and the supplies in areas that would be affected by another event in the volcano.

Bulusan Volcano had a phreatic eruption at 3:37 a.m. Sunday, its second this month since the June 5 event. Alert level 1 prevails over the volcano.
