Jodi Sta Maria talked about being a Kapamilya for more than two decades
Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta Maria expressed love and loyalty to ABS-CBN, her home network for twenty-four (24) years.
Jodi became a household name through the youth-oriented series Tabing Ilog in 1999. Prior to this big break, she first appeared in an episode of Star Drama Theater with Jolina Magdangal. Then, she was given a chance to be part of Gimik in 1998.
In 2012, she had her first lead role in the family-oriented series Be Careful With My Heart. With that many stages in her career as an actress, Jodi Star Maria has remained a Kapamilya.
In a recent interview for the upcoming finale of her series The Broken Marriage Vow with Zanjoe Marudo and Sue Ramirez, Jodi said that she chose to be with ABS-CBN despite her home network does not have a franchise, based on the article in PEP.
“I think it’s also during the hardest times kung saan mo makikita kung sino ang mga taong talagang nandiyan para sa iyo. And I guess for most of us na who stuck it out with the station, kumbaga, we were given the opportunity to prove our love and loyalty to ABS-CBN, may prangkisa man o wala, may free TV man o nasa digital,” Jodi said.
Although losing the franchise and the right to air on free TV was not something to be happy about, the actress said that it is still a blessing in disguise. Because of this obstacle that the Kapamilya network has faced, new platforms have opened their doors.
ABS-CBN opted to air its programs on digital platforms like the series of Jodi Sta Maria that is being aired also on the online streaming platform Viu. “I think, parang it’s really a blessing in disguise because kahit nawala tayo sa free TV, tayo ang nag-pioneer sa digital kasi tayo ang first sa Asia, and I think that’s a blessing,” Jodi Sta Maria said.
