Chiz Escudero wants to be the next Senate President

Senator-elect RaffyTulfo revealed that his fellow newly-elected Senator Chiz Escudero is aiming for the Senate Presidency.

Tulfo and Escudero are among the recently proclaimed magic 12 senators in the 2022 elections. Currently, the Senate President is Sen. Tito Sotto who ran for vice president.

Tulfo said that Escudero wants to have the said position. Based on the report from Inquirer, the host Tulfo in Action revealed that he called the husband of actress Heart Evangelista to ask him if he is planning to be the next Senate President.

“Kagabi kinausap ko si Chiz Escudero, tinanong ko siya kung meron na rin ba siyang balak, sabi niya pinagiisipan niya,” Raffy Tulfo said. As of this writing, the current Sorsogon Governor has not responded yet to this statement of his fellow Senator-elect.

Apparently, Escudero is not the only member of the Senate who talked to Tulfo regarding the Senate Presidency. “May mga nakipagusap sa akin at sinabi sa akin yung kanilang magiging programa once sila ay naging Senate president pero wala namang nagkwento sa akin na ‘Hey, dito sa akin, kumampi ka sa akin,’” the TV host-vlogger said.

Then, Tulfo revealed the names of the Senators who contacted him, and they were Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senator Cynthia Villar, and Senator Imee Marcos. The TV host said that he is not sure yet to whom he will give his nod. However, he is sure that the basis of his support will be prompted by the character of the senator.

“And very, very important yung senador na wala masyadong business interest na poprotektahan,” Raffy Tulfo said.
